How to open .uif files in Linux.

The .uif files is created by Magic ISO, which is a windows application to create, edit, and extract CD/DVD image files. For windows there is a freeware tool called MaginDisk that can open UIF images. But in Linux, you have to convert it to an ISO image file to open it.

The fastest method to convert a UIF images to an ISO images is to use UIF2ISO. YUIF2ISO is a tool in Linux to convert a.uif file to .iso file. You can download and install this command line tool from here.

USE YOUR NOTEPAD AS A DIARY

You must have seen this a million times before; though it’s too old I still believe it should be useful for those who never heard this trick before. This is for people who use notepad to write down any info on a day to day basis or just like a Diary!

  1. Open a blank Notepad file
  2. Type .LOG as the first line of the file, followed by an Enter. Save
    the file and close it. [ make sure that you are typing the .LOG in capital letters ]
  3. Double-click the file to open it and notice that Notepad appends the current date and time to the end of the file and places the cursor on the line after.
  4. Type your notes and then save and close the file.
  5. Each time you open the file, Notepad repeats the process, appending the time and date to the end of the file and placing the cursor below it.

Change Your IP Address in Less Than 60 Seconds

Have you thougt of changing your IP to change your identity on internet. Its possible in 60 seconds or less. This will help you if your IP has been banned from a game server, or on gunbound if your IP get’s blocked. This trick should work successfully on Windows XP and Windows 2000.
