Microsoft renamed MSN Search as ‘Bing’.

Bing Search Page

Bing Search Page

Microsoft launched the new search engine ‘Bing’ to compete with the Google and Yahoo. The intention is to unseat Google from top. Bing introduces some new features for the search engine. The back ground image of the home page changes regularly. Bing introduces a built in parentel lock feature, which will filter the adult content and block them. if one search’s the keyword sex, it shows the following message “The search sex may return sexually explicit content. To get results, change your search terms.”

Microsoft released a statement saying that it was up to users to turn off the filters, instructions have been provided to toggle the settings. “By default, Bing filters out explicit image and video results. Consumers must take action to turn off the Safe Search filter in their settings in order for explicit image or video content to appear in Bing’s results,”.

Bing introduces a feature to play the videos from the search page itself, without visiting the particular website. Other major search engines like Yahoo and Google come up with similar video and image results when electronic filters are turned off, but they don’t provide automatic playing of videos within the search-results page.

Can Bing beat Google and Yahoo? we have to wait a see!
